Denver, Colorado -- FBI officials investigating the terrorist attack on the Fusion Technologies research laboratory in Longmont, Colorado, released footage taken by a security camera across the street from the lab entrance. The five-minute segment was a grainy, black-and-white recording that reportedly shows a firefight between the two terrorist groups as well as the murder of the gate guard.
The segment of video released today starts shortly before the attack on the lab begins. A cleaning service van is visible near the entrance of the lab. A few moments later, an explosion on the far side of the Fusion Technologies lab briefly blinds the video camera. About fifteen seconds later, bright flashes can be seen to the right of the camera's field of view as a machine gun opens fire on the innocent gate security guard, who had stepped out of his shack to see what had happened. He is gunned down in a brutal spray of bullets. FBI analysts have been able to enhance the video quality enough to see two figures at the front of the building who appear to have taken cover from the machine gun fire. One of these figures crawled behind a bush while the other entered the cleaning service van.
Moments later, a bright flash similar to the effect of a military "flash bang" hand grenade blinded the camera for several seconds. When the camera recovered, the figures in front of the lab were no longer visible. The next several seconds of the video showed no motion, then a dark figure ran towards the left side of the building, where there were several flashes from gun fire. A second figure carrying a machine gun followed soon thereafter, and there were additional flashes from a second gunfight.
The last part of the video showed three figures entering the cleaning van and leaving the compound hastily. Further FBI analysis has been unable to identify the driver of the van, who was the only one visible when it left the Fusion Technologies campus.
In related news, FBI investigators detained three employees of the Merry Maids Commercial Services office in Denver, Colorado. According to sources wishing not to be identified, these employees were scheduled to clean the Fusion Technologies laboratory on the night the attack took place. After questioning, they were released. Sources close to the investigation say that the three had received payments to leave their equipment and keys in the van and to take the night off. Denver police are looking for a man identified only as "Jose" for questioning related to this incident.
