Ares de Epona
(General X Mountain Dream Condessa)
Ares was born about 9:30AM on the 14th of April, 2002. In this shot, he is seven hours old.
It took Julia a little bit of time to get to Colorado Springs, speed laws notwithstanding. Here's her first pix of him, at ten hours old.
By dawn's early light... Ares is twenty-two hours old. Julia spent several
hours petting Condessa so that Condessa would relax while Julia was around the
baby. It came in handy during the imprinting. And Condessa didn't mind the
massage at all.
Ares takes after his mother. For his first day, it seemed he spent 90% of his
time eating. Satin said that he got up so fast after the birth to nurse that
he was still wet with the bag wrapped around his back feet. Estimated time
to first meal, about ten minutes.
